CHRISTMAS and FOX

clock July 13, 2009 05:52 by author Admin

The Christmas season goes beyond Santa and the manger—sledding, snowball fights, warm cocoa by a fire, bells ringing, and playing funny pranks on silly carolers are also classic traditions we associate with the holiday.

As the FOX-Aniboom Holiday Animation Challenge ramps up, we’d like to remind you that you may have a great submission just chilling out when you could already have entered it! Give a couple of “Christmas” animations a watch for a sense of what kind of entries would work well in our Holiday-themed contest.

In Milty the Snowman, two kids get more—or less—than they bargained for, when they bring their snowman to life only to get a wise-cracking jerk. Another animation with bite in its frost is Winter Blunderland, a send-up of the whole holiday season—cheery viewers, be warned. Just remember that your Christmas submissions go far beyond elves, reindeer, and their jingling bells!

HALLOWEEN FOR FOX

clock July 7, 2009 12:09 by author Admin

Halloween means lots of things to lots of people—candy for kids, cider with a little something in it for adults, and barely-there costumes for teenagers.

But we can all agree Halloween always means masks, monsters, goblins, zombies, witches, and any other frightful things we wouldn’t want to run into!

With our FOX Aniboom Holiday Animation Challenge open to Halloween entries, we wanted to show you a couple of animations that would work well for Halloween, animations that use the scary themes and gruesome imagery we associate with the holiday.

Check out Daphne’s New Broom, the story of a witch whose broom doesn’t quite like to follow orders, and A Zombie Named Conan, a tale of a zombie boy who might just be a little too…normal. Perhaps that monster story or horrific frightener you’re keeping in the drawer should come on out and get pitched to FOX!

VALENTINE'S DAY and FOX

clock July 6, 2009 10:53 by author Admin

To Aniboom, Valentine’s Day means more than February 14th and cupids and chocolates—it means LOVE, in all its forms: true, false, unrequited, and dangerous.

When considering submissions for the FOX-Aniboom Holiday Animation Challenge, how about sending that passionate or hilarious (or both!) take on love.

A couple great examples are The Look of Love, a cute and moving story about a woman who can’t get a guy’s attention…but not for the reason she thinks; and Pieces of Heart, a stop-motion story about giving someone half of your heart, literally.

Check them out and keep your love stories coming to our competition!
