Straight from the floor of San Diego Comic Con, our main man Larry is having the time of his life. The biggest pop culture convention in the world, Comic Con is the place to learn about comics, animation, movies, TV, sci-fi, and every other reason we wake up in the morning.
Sending us pictures and updates from the floor, Larry gives us an inside look at the fun and craziness of Day 1 at con!

(The crush of fans at Comic Con)
Aniboom's first day at Comic-Con 2009 was amazing! It's simply the best weekend of the year for a fan boy like me. Some folks say it's grown too large (somehow it gets bigger every year) and there is no way any one person can experience half of whats going on here in San Diego. I was running around all day and somehow I didn't even make it to the show floor. How is that possible? Just busy with meetings, conference calls and reconnecting with old friends. My day began with an early breakfast with programming development folks, some calls, half a dozen meetings with other TV networks, Hollywood agents and comic book publishers. Hollywood is definitely buzzing about Aniboom's new programming initiatives and today was a great opportunity to spread the word about Aniboom's Virtual Animation Studio.
Lunch with Stan Lee was the highlight of my day (turkey for Stan, veggie sandwich for me). I've worked with Stan on several projects over the years and he is very excited about what animators can do with comics. Disney will be releasing Stan's first Motion Comic later this year.

Did I say that lunch with Stan was the highlight of my day?
Well, maybe it was a tie, cause bumping into Natasha Henstridge and her kids was also #1.

(Larry and Natasha)
She is by far the hottest woman at Con. Yes, even with her kids she hot. I fell in love with her in Species and have barely recovered. It has been years since I last saw her (when she recorded the voice of a substitute teacher in an episode of South Park in season one). We yapped about all kinds of stuff, but I forgot to ask her what she was doing at Con. Oops. Maybe Roger Donaldson has her in a new sci-fi flick.

(Seth Green and Breckin Meyer on a panel)
I also took a break during the afternoon to hang out the writers of Robot Chicken. This is still the funniest animated show on television and these lunatics are working on a new show, Titan Maximum, for Adult Swim. I've never had an opportunity to work with Seth Green and in addition to being the voice of Family Guy's Chris Griffin he is also one of the funniest actors and writers.

(Larry and Seth)
Seth loves the way Aniboom can connect him with hundreds of animators to create even bolder insanity.

(Kick-Ass creators Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr.)
I ended the day with a preview of Kick-Ass based on the comic by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. AMAZING and disturbing. Perfect for Nicolas Cage who plays Hit Girl's (Chloe Moretz) father. And I think I'm going senile, because Kick-Ass is one of my favorite comics, but i don't remember the story ending yet? How did they get the movie finished BEFORE the comic book series? This has to be a first. I also caught a preview of The Drawn Together Movie, and it looks great!

(The fans just keep on coming)
Tonight's Hollywood Reporter party at the W was a blast. Completely star studded--we had the Twilight cast, James Cameron was holding court, Stan Lee sharing stories with eager fans of all ages, and Tara Strong (one of my all time favorite voice actors) getting me in craps with her hilarity--who knew she did such a great Yiddish accent?

(Larry reunites with an old friend)
A great first day. More fun tomorrow (when I finally get to the show floor and help the Marvel folks formally announce our Motion Comics Initiative).
