The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are the reason I watch cartoons, love animation, read comic books, and am the way I am. As a kid, I had every Turtle toy known to man, as a teenager I collected all their comics--from the Archie, to the short-run Image, to all four volumes of Mirage Black and White--and as an adult, I have nothing but fond memories for the heroes on a half shell when I watch their new 4Kids cartoon and their quadrilogy of films.
Yes, the Turtles have been the seminal pop culture creation of my life. And now, the most incredible cross-over mash-up I could ever hear about has happened: Turtles Forever. Basically, the Turtles from the 1980s cartoon (mine) team up with the Turtles of today. I'm sorry, but when the words "Technodrome", "Bebop", and "Krang" are as regular for you as "and", "the", and "Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin" are for everyone else, this is your Superbowl.
I'm getting my tickets now!
